From fast casual burger chains to casual-dining kings like Olive Garden and Chili’s, tablets and iPads have become fixtures on restaurant tables and testaments to the prevalence of tech in foodservice. From ordering a meal to calling a server to submitting payment, these devices provide end-to-end ease and convenience. Young consumers seem likely to eat up a foodservice experience enabled by the tech they rely on to streamline other areas of their lives.
According to the National Restaurant Association, the restaurant industry generates more than $800 billion in annual worldwide revenue. And restaurants today are driving serious growth by leveraging technology. The battle to earn a greater share of consumer dollars is more competitive than ever; and there is more pressure on restaurants to keep up with the evolving technology of food service.
