Greg is proud to have been with the SGC sales team for over eight years. Having been in the industry for a good portion of his life, he says he has gained too many skills to list but knows he can still learn something new all the time. Greg spends most of his time opening new customer accounts, selling, and servicing all his new and current customers. He enjoys bringing innovative ideas and items to his customers, to help them increase their sales and profits. He also likes the challenge of problem-solving issues for them.
When asked what others might find surprising about his role he replied, “the amount of people I come in contact with and new customer referrals by current customers.” Greg is most proud of himself for starting at zero and building a customer base and territory and being able to service his customers with the fastest reply possible to meet their needs and issues. He enjoys the fact that he has a huge resource of team members to reach out to whenever needed. One of his favorite experiences with SGC has been the hands-on training with Chef Curtis and the trips he’s been able to take through SGC.
When asked to advise a new SGC employee, he added that the person “should be very proud of being a part of the SGC Team and to be working for a family-owned business that cares for its employees.”
Although it looks like Greg is all about business, he has found a good balance between it and his family life. He manages to fish, boat, scuba dive, and travel while enjoying life with his wife of 36 years, a son, and three “beautiful” granddaughters! Greg is just another wonderful example of a dedicated team member who is looking forward to working with SGC until retirement eventually knocks on his door. Until then, we will be thankful for all that he does at SGC!
