Summertime has always pulled a crowd to outdoor seating, and this year will be no different. The pandemic forced many activities to the outdoors, and consumers want outdoor dining to stick around for the long haul. Many who are making their way back to restaurants are finding they feel most comfortable at outdoor seating. Now is the time for patios to shine!

There’s nothing a little Vitamin D can’t fix, and eating outside is no exception. Not only is fresh air good for the soul, but it’s also good for business. When relaxed and happy, customers spend more! If you have a happy hour, make it patio-exclusive.  Offering a patio location for happy hours gives guests an exclusive area to enjoy appetizers and drinks, making it feel less crowded than sticking them in with those enjoying a more slow-paced meal.  

Give the Same Experience 
Just because the dining experience is outdoors, doesn’t mean it should be any less memorable than an indoor experience. Keep your outdoor space comfortable by considering the addition of cooling fans. Keep your outdoor furniture durable for the weather but comfortable for your guests. Cushions that are easily removed create a comfortable experience for your guests while not becoming time-consuming for your staff to set-up and take down each day. If the lights dim within your restaurant at a certain time, continue that outside and light candles to create an environment that matches your indoor seating.
