Cajun Sandwich
A bold, flavor-packed classic layered with Swiss cheese, smoked ham, and tender pulled pork, pressed to crispy perfection on Cuban bread with yellow mustard and pickles. Smoky, tangy, and irresistibly melty.
INGREDIENTS
- ¼ cup Heritage Harvest Zesty mustard– SGC# 910653
- ¼ cup Heritage Harvest Mayonnaise– SGC# 123521
- ¼ tsp Cayenne Pepper – SGC# 191389
- 1 (8 ounce) loaf Cuban bread– SGC# 526737
- 4 slices Swiss cheese– SGC# 035801
- 6 thin slices of smoked Ham – SGC# 245365
- 1 ½ cups cooked pulled pork, heated– SGC# 211053
- 4 each dill pickle thinly Sliced – SGC# 126533
- 2 tablespoons of butter, or as needed– SGC# 054130
INSTRUCTIONS
- Gather all ingredients.
- Mix mayonnaise, mustard, and cayenne together in a bowl to make sauce.
- Cut loaf in half and evenly split bread to make tops and bottoms of two sandwiches
- Spread each half on both sides with mayo-mustard sauce.
- Divide sandwich ingredients between the two bottom halves in this order: 2 slices Swiss cheese, 3 slices ham, hot cooked pork, pickle slices, and 2 more slices Swiss cheese. Place tops on sandwiches.
- Melt butter in a heavy skillet over medium heat. Place sandwiches in the skillet and press down with a heavy weight, such as another skillet or weight Toast sandwiches until bread is crisp and filling is heated through, 3 or 4 minutes per side.
