Chris Evans

The work life of an SGC District Sales Representative includes cultivating relationships and creating partnerships with current and prospective clients. Our DSR’s must keep up with trends, promote the right products for the right application, manage orders and navigate supply chain issues. All of this, while also collaborating with Transportation to help make sure products reach customers in a timely manner. Chris Evans is one of the outstanding DSR’s serving the clients of SGC. And has been with us for almost 8 years now. Chris described his role as someone the customers trust to be their representative, to be their voice and to trust that SGC will deliver what is needed.  

 

“Salespeople are ALWAYS on the clock,” said Chris. This is very true because his responsibility is to place orders for our customers and make sure that they are delivered correctly and in a timely manner. Deliveries may happen at any time of the day, so he is always communicating with his customers. Chris shared that he is always on the hunt to grow his territory as well as acquire and maintain new partnerships with customers. One of his favorite things about working with the sales team is that he enjoys, “watching the success of our partners based on us taking care of them.” Our customer’s wins are our wins!  

“I truly feel like I am important to the company. It really is like another family to me.” When asked what he enjoys the most about the culture and work environment at SGC, Chris responded “there is no ceiling, there are tons of opportunity to grow with SGC.” Having a work/life balance is important when maintaining a healthy relationship with your day to day. Chris finds this balance by playing golf and spending time with his wife and two stepdaughters. He hopes to one day make a trip to Thailand for the beaches, and of course the food

 

Chris is proud that he always does what he says he’s going to do. He has found that he has become more patient and has embraced the idea that he is more consultative than just an order taker. Chris’s dedication to both SGC and his customers is easy to see. He attributes his love for working with SGC to our culture and the opportunities to advance. The future is bright for Chris
