Kevin Bracamonte

The foodservice business is one that never sleeps and has no days off. There must always be staff members working due to overnight deliveries, different customer business hours, etc. The warehouse department is a very important piece to SGC’s team. They are responsible for an array of different jobs. This team picks cases for our customers, they sort and stack items to be stored for future orders, they help load our trucks, and keep on top of day-to-day responsibilities to keep the warehouse running smoothly. Our warehouse team is dedicated and hard-working, and that hard work pays off with advancement opportunities. Kevin is a prime example of someone who has worked his way into a management position. He has been with SGC for 10 years and started as a Night Order Selector. Kevin’s strong work ethic, approachability and leadership skills have helped him make his way to one of our Warehouse Managers. In his role, he checks on team members to make sure we have coverage where it’s needed, he tracks the team's production, works with our transportation department and buyers to make sure we get certain loads received. All of this so that we can serve our customers. He also collaborates with the team to improve our processes and helps with orientation and training of new employees. Kevin told us what he enjoys most about working with his team is how each day is different and he gets the opportunity to watch his teammates grow, while also helping them work through problems. 

“I have enjoyed seeing the culture from different perspectives in each of the roles that I have had in my 10 years at SGC. Overall, the feeling that each individual is valued stands out to me. I have seen from experience that in challenging times everyone is willing to stop what they are doing and pitch in to get the job done.”  

Recently, on New Year’s Day, our night shift team set a new productivity record. Kevin said that “everyone jumped in to get the job done making it feel like any ordinary night, you never would have thought that they just broke a single night case pick record. Kudos to them!” This was one of his favorite experiences at SGC, seeing how a team can come together to help one another accomplish something huge. 

One thing people might not know about Kevin is that he loves to ride his horses with his wife and just enjoy all that nature has to offer. He also mentions that they are blessed with two sons, a wonderful home, and a wonderful job. Kevin is proud of how far he has come in his walk with God, which helps him in his day to day and maintain a positive outlook on life.  

“I’m proud to work for such a great company, I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. It has been an awesome journey so far and I look forward to another 10 years!” We do too, Kevin!
