Happy GivingTuesday!
GivingTuesday is an opportunity for people around the world to come together through generosity in all its forms by sharing acts of kindness and giving their voice, time, money, goods, and advocacy to support communities and causes. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. GivingTuesday was born and incubated at the 92nd Street Y and its Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact in New York City. GivingTuesday is now an independent nonprofit and a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity.
We are proud to support Ozarks Food Harvest
Our donation will help to provide 15 Weekend Backpacks. The Food Bank’s Weekend Backpack Program provides food-insecure children with a bag of child-friendly food items to take home every Friday of the school year. Nearly 1,600 children in 62 schools in Springfield and across the Ozarks benefit from this innovative, life-saving program that began in 2003. These bags contain six nutritious, balanced, easy-open meals. The students are selected by teachers and counselors who interact with the children on a daily basis.
